A Fresh Approach – Annual National Primary Care Conference,
4th October 2007
Edinburgh International Conference Centre
Jess Pryce-Jones ran a workshop for 200 GPs at the annual Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) Conference. The conference highlighted the challenges faced by GPs and outlined a broad range of evidence-based approaches to common challenges that greatly reduce GPs happiness at work.
She discussed happiness at work from a GP perspective, what it is and how to build it both personally and for practice teams. Other speakers at the conference included Niall Dickson - CEO of the King’s Fund, Sir Alan Langlands - former CEO NHS Executive and current Principal / Vice Chancellor of University of Dundee and Rebecca Stephens - first British woman to climb Everest.
Jess said, "The pressure currently on GPs s huge. They are so busy working at the coal-face of primary care that they simply never get time to think about themselves and their teams. It was a privilege working with such an engaged group."
